A Statistical Roentgenocephalometric Study on the Ricketts´ Line of Korean

Abstract
|
|
|
A roentgenographic cephalometric study was made on the esthetic line of 399 Korean male and female with normal occlusion and acceptable profile. Instead of routine chronologic age grouping, the materials were hevided into seven groups by Hellmans´dental age in both sexes. The results were obtained as follows:
1) The Ricketts´ line was retruded gradually with the development of dentition.
2) Significant variation in convexity was found_ in male.
3) Relatively significant variation was found in the lower face both by individual and sex differences.
4) State of variation of lip position in both sexes were quite similar in the upper lip compared with that of the lower.
5) A prominant lip position was found in male and female, however, relative anterior position of upper lip in female and lower lip in male were observed.
